THE TWIN FLAME PATH

A lot of people say the twin flame relationship is actually just a trauma bond and an idealized, toxic relationship. I’ve heard it said that these relationships are another form of narcissistic abuse, codependency, and unhealthy obsession. And in many cases where people claim to be a twin flame that can be true. Many have taken on the label without understanding exactly what this path is. 

I often tell the story that years ago, a student said, “I want to meet my twin flame.”

I laughed and said, “No, you don’t! If you want a husband, kids, and the white picket fence, you want a soul mate. This path is not for the faint of heart.”

Those who discount this path entirely have not experienced the profound telepathy, the mirroring, feeling your counterpart’s spirit next to you when they are on the other side of the world as if they were in the room, the insane synchronicities, the prophetic dreams, the resurfacing of past life memories, the life changing dark night of the soul that comes from the intense separation that feels like you lost the part of you that allows you to breathe—I could go on . . . And it hits you like a freight train and changes your life completely. Most of us weren’t looking for it. 

However, where some of the confusion happens is people want to put the twin flame into an idealized relationship and go into a state of limerence, when in fact it isn’t about a relationship in the way we know it at all. It is a path of awakening and cosmic communion—coming into union with all aspects of yourself, including God. This path can lead to self-realization and is a gateway to unity consciousness. 

Can a twin flame path have some of those “negative” aspects? Absolutely. Mine did—there was a lot to heal. But the question is, did you transmute the shadow, ascend to higher levels of consciousness, and did it lead you back to more of yourself? Were you able to release the longing and know you are already whole/holy? And did you embark on your mission of service?

The twin flame path is a specific mission some souls chose and were ready for in their evolution—it’s not an idealized mission or any better than anyone else’s journey––it’s just is one path to help heal this planet, bring you back home, and come into true union with the twin and all of creation.
